Before becoming our student, you'll have a free trial class. During this class, you will get to know our teaching methodology in practice and have your first contact with basic Jiu-Jitsu notions and positions.

Please arrive 10 minutes before class, and don’t worry: we’ll make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. You don’t need to own a uniform for your trial class. Just wear a t-shirt underneath the one we provide. Bring a spare to change into after class since you’ll be working hard and may get sweaty! Bring a bottle of water as well. While we are barefoot on the mats, footwear is required elsewhere in the academy. Most students wear sliders or flip flops for quick and easy access to and from the mats.

  1. Class begins with a warm-up or some drills. Then the Professor will demonstrate a position or technique, and you’ll get to practice it with a partner.
  2. You’ll be paired with a more experienced student who will help you understand the moves. Don’t hesitate to ask questions; our Professors are always happy to help!
  3. The class ends with positional sparring, where you’ll work with a bit more resistance. It’s not a full round, and your partner will take care of you, giving you a chance to apply the techniques without full compliance.
